In New York, the busiest hours are Friday and Saturday evenings and any night with a big game, when quoted delivery times can stretch past an hour; ordering before 5 p.m. or picking up yourself avoids the wait. Delivery radiuses are small, often two to five miles, and a minimum order plus a delivery fee is normal, with a tip of a few dollars for the driver on top. Lunch specials such as two slices and a drink, or a personal pie, are the cheapest way to eat at most shops across New York on weekdays. Toppings are priced per item and half-and-half pies are usually free to request. Gluten-free crusts and vegan cheese are increasingly common but often cost a few dollars extra, and cross-contact in a shared oven is standard unless the shop says otherwise.

Ordered a pepperoni slice and was surprised how small it was for the $6 price tag. The slice was warm, but could have been warmed a bit longer in the oven. The ingredients tasted quality, but didn’t make up for the portion size and pricing. The cashier was also unable to give me change for a $20. Povinthecity let me down a bit on this one.

This is a really well done pizzeria, hospitable with great food and music. Not a ton of seating, but if you land a spot, be prepared for some outstanding Detroit goodness. We have tried many Detroit pizzas in the US (and one in Dublin), and this ranks up there with the very best of them. Worth a try, and buon appetito! Well done, Nate

One of the top five pizzas I've ever had. Jose was a beast in the kitchen, taking orders making the pizzas and providing exceptional service. My partner and I were waiting a little while for our pizza to come out so Jose gave us a little slice of an already made pizza to hold us over. Cool place cool vibe, nice outdoor seating. I'll be back!

As a native NYer and a child of the 70’s, I’m all about the $1 slice but sometimes you need to treat yourself. Nate’s is probably the most unique pizza experience I’ve had in a very long time. We ordered their meatball parm sandwich (saw this on a FB reel) and St Louis Tavern style pizza. I know, I forgot this was a Detroit pizza shop but they looked good and they didn’t disappoint. The meatball parm sandwich was on a homemade bread that was so delicious it had the chew and crispness to hold the well seasoned meatballs. I think there was this ricotta herb spread and the cheese is best described as angel whiskers. They melted in your mouth highlighting each bite perfectly. So good! The St Louis Pizza was razor thin and was probably 1/3 the thickness of a good NY slice. It was definitely fun. Sauce was rich with a great mix of sweet and tart. FRESH and fragrant basil dotted the pie which popped in your mouth. Nate was awesome noticing we didn’t get a Detroit slice and gave us a small square to try. Wow. We were so stuffed otherwise we would have gotten another slice. The best way to describe it was a mochi like texture. Crispy on the outside but the center was pillowy with a dif
